It is a custom in Iran to give crisp uncirculate banknotes to the bride, or throw at her when she dances at her wedding day. This 10,000 Rial which has the picture of Mt. Damavand on the back, resembling current banknotes of Iran, has the picture of a bouquet of roses in front with the motto: "less kids, better life, brighter future" printed in red on the front. The spelling error on the back is quite interesting.
In 1979 and during the early days of the Revolution in Iran, some crooks produced banknotes with the image of Khomeini, and started distributing them in small cities as official banknotes of the Islamic Republic. Very crude reproduction, but still very interesting history.
